Ballistic Overkill is direct to the point: Pick a class, choose your gun, and dive right in, it has no barrier between you and immediate run and gun action. Designed from the outset to be 'pick up and play', Ballistic Overkill is for you regardless of your level of FPS experience.
Ballistic Overkill is the premium version of the f2p browser game Ballistic after Aquiris acquired the rights to the game from its previous publisher. The game has gone trough a complete overhaul both in design philosophy and technology. Focusing on a premium format and native to PC instead of running from the Unity plug-in in a browser, Ballistic Overkill delivers the best in FPS action and expands on the core success of it's predecessor.
My role in Ballistic Overkill was expanded from the sole designer/level designer to principal designer, setting the design direction and onboarding new designers into the project as I transitioned to a lead position. Redesigning the game UI, gameplay systems, progression systems and UX from the f2p browser version to a standalone PC version where interesting product and creative challenges.
We also expanded the creative universe of Ballistic with new art and female versions of every mercenary bundled for free as part of the core experience of the game. The game features a free lootbox drop system that unlocks over 80 weapons and hundreds of different skins as well as new character visuals such as Zombie Grenadier and high-tech looking Elite Marksman.
